Plugin: Display Windows Live Messenger Status on Sidebar

WinLiveStatus does exactly what it says on the tin, or in this case exactly what it says on the ridiculously long blog title- It displays your Windows Live Messenger (the new MSN Messenger) status in your blog’s sidebar, footer, header, wherever, really. There are six icons for each status (Offline, Online, Away, On the Phone, Out to Lunch and Busy).

There are two versions of the plugin to download, either the normal version, which simply needs activating and will display the status icon wherever you put the function in your code, or the widget version, which doesn’t require any contact with code whatsoever, but can only be placed on the sidebar with the use of Wordpress Widgets. To retrieve your messenger status the plugin uses MSN Bot, which needs adding to your contact list before you can use the plugin properly.
