How To Create An Impact With Your Blog Posts


Imagine if your blog readers frequently skipped lunch just to read what you’ve posted. How fulfilling is that?

This post by Brian Clark talks about how to open your blog posts with a bang. While you may argue that most of it is either common sense, or just basic copywriting tactics, you’ll be suprised by how often you leave out these “basic stuff” on your blog post.

Here’s Brian’s 5 tips on writing the first few sentences of your blog post:

  1. Ask A Question
  2. Share an anecdote or quote
  3. Invoke the mind’s eye
  4. Use an analogy, methphor or simile
  5. Create a shocking statistic

I for one am guilty of being lazy. Sometimes you just don’t think about these things – you just want to write and click that “Publish” button, and go on with the rest of that movie you were watching.

However, it wouldn’t hurt to have several “Pillar Articles” as Yaro calls it, using these strategies.
