How I learned Coding
I can’t remember the amount of hours I spent trying to figure out ways to change code in my various WordPress and Blogger blogs. The biggest issue has always been not knowing how to right code from scratch which makes it very hard to learn.
Where to start and what to do became a problem for me many of times but thanks to my insatiable appetite to learn new things to do with the Internet I persisted. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to figure out how to do something or change the layout of our blog. Often we might know a person that could help us with the issue but they always happen to live at the other end of the world, so here goes the waiting…
In the meantime one persists and keeps pushing and that is exactly what I have done. One place were I was starting out to learn HTML was on one of the many useful learning sites.
These sites really helped me to overcome most issues by simply spending some time and doing it.
The most important thing to remember when you attempt to tweak with code is to always save your original (last) template file. If you fail to do this, you might loose important data.
Another useful hint is to backup your blog at least once a week (this should be done anyway) You can do this with the help of Plugins. Along the way, Google has become my best friend in terms of finding information and I also learned a thing or two about coding.
I also suggest that before you send off emails or even post your troubles in forums, you scan the Internet or the applicable forum for previously answered questions and try to work with those. This will make you better at coding and it also helps the forum moderator in not having to answer the same questions all around.
