Free Blogging Platform Comparison Chart

If you have ever wondered which blogging platform to use when you first get the blog bug, now you can find out at a glance what’s best suited to your needs.

User bingo of Tablefy has done the hard work for all of you and compared the most common free sources for bloggers. Please note his comparison chart doesn’t include self hosted blogs, but merely free platforms like Blogger, Typepad, BlogWare, WordPress and Expression Engine.
go to the table!

I found this chart very useful for beginners who have no idea which way to turn. I’m sure some of you can benefit from this chart, thanks to bingo.

Update June 27th: As was pointed out by Nishu, the information in this chart isn’t correct. Please reasd the comments below and my appologies for posting this incorrect chart to all of you. I hope you can all forgive my stupidity for once.

The first blogging platform I chose was WP and I think I had done a great choice in opting it.
I strongly recommend newbies to go with WP which is the best and a user friendly blogging platform… :)

nice to have the info I guess, but this is most certainly not a comparison of free blogging platforms at all. Wordpress and Blogger are free, but Typepad is not and only offers a 14 day trial. BlogWare is a joke and just about abandoned – half their examples of “who’s blogging now” just lead to page not found errors or old Fortune City Redirect pages. Expression Engine has a “free core version”, but to use it’s full functionality you have to use the paid version. Like I said – helpful chart maybe, but unfair or unlike comparisons.

@ Nishu: My bad if I upset your intelligence (and those of our readers) by not verifying this chart. I guess i believed it was correct since it only had been published there a few days prior to my post if memory serves me right.

Now you slapped my hand may I go back to work. :-)

Thanks for the update, I will rectify this with a note.
