Display Google Adsense in Feedburner RSS Feeds
If you’re using Feedburner for your blog’s RSS subscription, you should know by now that since Google bought over Feedburner, you can have your Adsense ads display within your Feedburner RSS feeds.
To do this, simple login to your Feedburner account and select your feed. Then click on “Monetize” and you should see a page that requires your Google Adsense account information, such as:
- Your email address for the Adsense account
- Your postal code (additional verification)
Once you’ve entered the details, you’ll be sent a verification email from Google Adsense, and you need to verify by clicking on a link. Then you’re taken to a page where you have to grant access to Feedburner, that allows Feedburner to retrieve and send information to and from your Adsense account.
Once you’ve done that, you should now see a page like the one below in your Feedburner account under “Monetize”:
Click “Activate” to activate the service, and build your Adsense ad format and colors as you would normally do when putting Adsense into your site or blog. If you have multiple RSS feeds you’ll need to activate it for each feed, and you can use the same account settings.
Note: For some reason your Custom Channels and Custom Palettes don’t show up in Feedburner. You have to sign-out and sign-in again for these to work properly.
Once you’ve build your ad, you’ll be given a specific code to paste into your Wordpress theme files, and the instructions given on how to this are pretty clear. If you’re already using Feddburner FeedFlares on your site, Adsense will show up automatically and you don’t really need to do anything.
There are some limitations with this service however:
- You can only display ads in the 468×60 and 300×250 format
- You cannot choose to show only text ads, so I’m guessing it will default to the configuration you’ve set in your Adsense account itself
- Once you’ve inserted the codes, Adsense ads who up on both your blog and your RSS feed, you cannot choose to display in your RSS feed only

There is one thing you should be careful about when using this feature of Feedburner. Your RSS subsribers are your fellow readers, and if they feel like they are going to monetize their friendship/readership, some of them can easily quit reading your blog.
Thats true but it’s not a problem for this blog though since it IS a “how to make money online” blog
Yeah Gobala, you are right. I am still suspicious about my blog, even though i aim to make a living by blogging. How can i know without trying? I think i should try first, and then decide what to do.
No offense to you Mert… but this just pressed my buttons…
If people want to quit reading my stuff because of an ad or two… then that’s their right to do so! Just as it is mine to try to earn a living from the ‘net. But I am sick and tired of being constantly made to feel guilty because I have adsense ads, or use affiliate links (perish the thought) because I have a BLOG!
What on earth is wrong with that? As long as I only recommend stuff that’s useful to my readers and not every crappy product that comes along to drain their wallets – Now THAT you DO have to be careful about!
Sorry… the Internet IS my full-time occupation, and has been for over 12 years! I would not have been able to “survive” without those ads/links, and if some people expect me to provide the depth of content I do without anything other than warm fuzzies, or make me feel that I have to constantly apologise because I use adverts to meet my “living” expenses… then the best place for them IS somewhere else.
People DO make a living from the web, so to those who crucify us for trying to do it, it’s time for a bit of a reality check here please for 2008

I just set up AdSense for my site through Feedburner and the account has been linked but I do not see any channels in the Moneytize tab.
I even created a URL channel (I called it http://www.zenithpropertysolutions.com/blog) on AdSense but nothing is happening yet, what do you think I should do?
I have a problem with adsense in my Feed, i see no adsense, it doesn’t appear but in my blog it work without problem

hi folks, i set adsense for feeds up the other night using feedburner, everything was spot on, 3 days later the ads don’t show up, i have changed nothing…any ideas would be greatly appreciated..many thanks in advance…
